Backstage Support Services Ltd. exists to fulfill a niche in markets of all sizes by providing event services to a variety of clients with professionalism, integrity, and transparency. From a licensed and bonded security crew to professional event labour and site solutions, Backstage strives to be a provider of high quality services at fair market value.
SECURITY PHILOSOPHY
Producing an event brings many challenges and risks. Event promoters and venue operators are constantly threatened by the liabilities associated with their work. By collaborating with promoters and venue operators, and liaising with government officials and local law enforcement, Backstage is able to coordinate a completely transparent, efficient, and safe operation. The security division exists to do more than check for passes – it exists to play a constructive role in your overall risk management strategies.
The security team is bonded and licensed with the Government of Alberta under the Private Investigators and Security Guards Act. Each employee carries government identification at all times and will present it upon request. Backstage is backed by comprehensive $5,000,000 general liability insurance policy, and Workers’ Compensation Board Alberta insurance. All employees undergo an internal interview and screening process, and are subject to a criminal record check and fingerprinting. These documents are available upon request.
Transparency is a key operating principle of Backstage. Strict attention to detail and an almost obsessively detailed invoicing system provides you with the most accurate information. Individual sign in times and detailed incident reports for all major incidents are mandatory provisions in each final settlement package.
Backstage Security specializes in proactively preventing incidents. The safety and satisfaction of patrons is a top priority. Reason and composure are key tools in facilitating patron compliance. All incidents are defused with objectivity and tact. The experienced management team is able to recognize the needs of everyone from patrons to headlining artists, and react to each situation appropriately. Discretion and professionalism are the fundamental operating guidelines of the company, which contribute to a constant standard of excellence.
EVENT LABOUR PHILOSOPHY
Backstage strives to manage the labour aspect of your event with logic and practicality. The event labour and staffing division exists to help your event save time, resources, and stay on budget. Backstage’s ability to identify where specialty staff are best placed in an event production allow your function to operate with efficiency and peace of mind.
The Backstage team has worked with show professionals from all over the world, and are continually honing their skills and looking for ways to improve their work. A positive and encouraging work environment is conducive to productivity, and translates into a smooth, functional operation. Crew members and show support staff are carefully screened and regularly evaluated to ensure that the customer service and approachability factor of the labour pool is never overlooked. Every show employee, patron, and client representative deserves to be serviced by the most adept, friendly, and respectful employee available.
