RACHEL CALLIS NAMED LOGISTICS AND SCHEDULING MANAGER FOR BACKSTAGE SUPPORT SERVICES LTD.
BACKSTAGE SUPPORT SERVICES LTD. ALSO SELECTED AS PRIMARY SECURITY PROVIDER FOR THE 2010 CALGARY EXHIBITION AND STAMPEDE, AND THE 2010 BIG VALLEY JAMBOREE IN CAMROSE, AB.
Rachel comes to Backstage from a rich history in event security and crowd management. Starting her career with Showsec International, Europe’s leading supplier of event security and crowd management solutions, she was responsible for managing operations and logistics in the regional office serving South of England and Wales territory.
Rachel moved to Calgary in 2008, and joined the Backstage security team in a part time capacity before accepting a role as Client Services Representative with Ticketmaster Canada where she managed the ticketing for countless events in the Calgary area. With her strong organizational skills, diverse experience behind the scenes at major events, and coordinating over 500 staff for events of all sizes, including UK’s major festivals, Rachel brings the experience and drive Backstage is seeking to tackle the ever-growing demand for its security & labour services. Rachel will support the operation in a variety of key areas, working alongside Jana Bridgewater – Office Manager and will bring welcome relief to the rising challenges of providing security & labour services to a growing marketplace.
In 2010 Backstage Support Services Ltd. was selected as the primary event security company for Camrose, Alberta’s Big Valley Jamboree – supplying over 220 security staff for the iconic multi-day country music festival. Backstage is also excited to be the primary third party supplier of security services to the Calgary Exhibition and Stampede – supplying crowd management and liquor control operations to the massive 10-day event.
Alberta’s new Security Services and Investigators Act went into effect on June 1, 2010, which regulates a much larger portion of the public security sector, implementing industry-wide standards, training requirements, and accountability.
